Red One provides minibus training for public and private organisations, individuals, schools, and academies covering categories B, D1 and lite minibuses as well as the full D1 PCV training package.
If you wish to drive a vehicle with a passenger seating capacity of up to 16 seats on a ‘for hire or reward’ basis you must take the D1 PCV training and test. Drivers who have D1 (101) on their licence may be able to drive a minibus up to 17 seats including the driver on a ‘NOT for hire or reward’ basis.
Driving a minibus is significantly different from driving a car. A minibus is longer, wider, higher, and heavier than a car, therefore the steering, handling and braking characteristics are markedly different. Practical training and regular assessments ensure that drivers do so with the confidence, knowledge and understanding to do so safely.
