Anyone wishing to drive a Devon County Council vehicle with a passenger seating capacity of up to 16 seats on Devon County Council business or for Devon County Council schools must have D1 on their driving licence, they must also obtain a Certificate of Competence. Red One issues this Certificate of Competence on behalf of DCC.
The purpose of the Certificate of Competence is to ensure that you are driving a Devon County Council minibus in a safe and acceptable manner. It is also an opportunity for you to review and refresh your skills under the guidance of a qualified instructor.
Devon County Council requires all certificate holders to undergo refresher training every four years.
This course is for people who lack confidence and require some training prior to their DCC Certificate of Competence Test. This training (including test) covers pre-driving checks, familiarisation with the vehicle, manoeuvring, controlled stops and training on the public highway. Most types of road and traffic situations will be covered.
